The palace of Jabba the Hutt, crime lord of Tatooine, is full of unpleasant surprises including a trapdoor that sends Luke Skywalker tumbling into a rancor pit. The young Jedi is destined to become the carnivorous creature’s next meal unless he finds a way to defeat the beast. Luke battles the rancor, using the bone of a previous victim and a well-aimed rock to dispatch the rancor and free himself from the pit.

This is the GREATEST STAR WARS TOY IN HISTORY!!! Awesome sculpting, articulation and incredible detail. Almost looks like a statue when placed on the coffee table. This Rancor is SUPERIOR to the one released in the mid 1990s. I am amazed by the toy’s size as well. A winner all around. Put this one on your shelf!

Recieved this today and lets just say this figure is impressive. The sculpt is right out of the film and the coloring in the skin is equally accurate. The scale also appears spot on. This is basically a rotocast figure, and even so, with his size, he still has significant weight. He has a cut neck, forearms, and wrists. Ball jointed shoulders and ankles. And of course a moveable lower jaw. The shoulders appear to have some sort of rachet like mechanism internally, probably to handle the weight of the incredibly long arms and allow them to be posed. I have to admit that while the addition of the mechanisms make sense, I did find them somewhat restrictive in terms of movement. The set also includes Luke in his Jedi get up, a bone(to wedge in the beasties mouth) and Lukes lightsaber hilt in his belt.
All in all this is a really cool addition to anyones collection. It looks great, rotocast is durable, and hey, it’s the rancor.
