This is no ordinary lightsaber — it sports two blades in one. |
Double-dualing, Double-bladed Lightsaber
The Star Wars Jedi Dual Action Lightsaber includes two lightsabers–a larger one and a smaller one. The smaller one can be used on its own as an extra weapon, or it can be put into the end of the larger lightsaber to form a double-bladed weapon. Both lightsabers light up with a fluorescent blue glow.
You can also easily store the smaller Dual Action Lightsaber inside its larger twin by holding down the side buttons and releasing them once it is in place. By doing this, the Dark Side will have no idea that you are coming into battle with two weapons! Both lightsaber’s light wands smoothly slide back down into themselves when your child is finished playing, leaving very little clean up.
Perfect 2-in-1 Toy for Star Wars Fans
The Star Wars Dual Action Lightsaber finally gives science fiction lovers the chance to have their very own lightsaber and take part in the eternal battle against the evil Dark Side. Both lightsabers look like those used in the timeless movies, and the lights and sounds are spot-on. One thing to keep in mind is that the lightsabers are not very bright when played in direct sunlight, but are perfect for indoors or darker areas. The lightsabers are also very lightweight, making them easy for younger children to use.

After reading the many disappointing reviews of fragile toy light sabers, I found a WONDERFUL alternative (follow the link below to the Max Skillz Bo Staff Trainer). It’s designed for safe and spirited fighting, is very durable and detaches to make two separate “swords”. Of course it doesn’t glow, hum or look exactly like the movie prop – but the two pair we’ve bought hold up under very enthusiastic use and my son has no problem imagining himself to be swinging a double light-saber. Buy two kits and you have one double-purple and one double-orange.

My son had wanted this duel action lightsaber because of the double ended blade. One blade is normal sized like the other Star Wars lightsabers sold. However, the other blade is so small it looks like it was made for Yoda. The smaller blade lights up so faintly that we could not see that it was lit unless we turned off the lights. Also when you attach the smaller blade into the handle so that the lightsaber is “double bladed”, the feeble light will not stay on. It seems that it was poorly designed so that upon inserting the smaller blade into position, the button is turned off within. This toy is overpriced and not worth the money.

This is what my 11-year-old grandson, and his younger brother, wanted, and they were delighted to open them on Christmas Eve. I thought they were a bit pricey, but a fun toy. I’m not sure how long they will last–just hope they don’t poke each other’s eyes with them.

The Star Wars Duel Action Lightsaber/Jedi is a lot of fun it allows anyone who is a fan of Star Wars to explore their imagination. Yes I would recommend this item.

The smaller blade consistently turns off after being inserted into the end of the larger blade. Not immediately, but after 30-60 seconds. Might be due to the button being pressed inside the larger handle, or maybe it’s designed to do that as a battery-saving feature. But I doubt it was designed to turn off, since the larger one stays on.
It’s poorly designed anyway because it looks small and weak. When you think ‘double-bladed lightsaber’, you thing of Darth Maul’s, with the same size on each end. It’s clear on the packaging that one of them is smaller, I just think it’s silly. But one of our kids really wanted it for his birthday when he saw it in the store, so we got it. We were all pretty disappointed that the small light kept turning off.
