I really liked this set, mainly because of the moving wings, but also the simplicity and ease of modifing it. I like to make very small modifications whenever I get a new Lego set. The modification I made was this: On the part of the middle wing where it connects to the main body, there is a Lego TECNIC-style piece that when the wings are extended, (As shown on the box), it should touch the bottom of the main body. But unfortunatly it doesn’t quite go all the way like it should. So I put in one of those blue pieces that snap into a TECNIC piece and you can attach a normal Lego piece to the part that sticks out. You put one of those in the TECNIC piece on the hinge, and when you unfold the wings, it will snap into the bottom of the main body. The only reason I rated 1 star on education was because you don’t see them in many classrooms in the U.S. It is a very cool set, though.

I got this set with my christmas money. When I started building the wing I realized that the entire model was put toghether backwards. This product was bigger than I thought, it was a little exspensive, but it was a good set. The clone pilot was pretty sweet. Here’s some advice: if it makes a big clicking sound you’ll have to repair it. Over all it was an excellent set I would recommend it to everyone.

My grandson has a large collection of Lego, especially Star Wars and really enjoys putting them together. They are NOT A TOY so your child will not be able to play with it after building ~(not a defect, just not meant for play)~ it is a Display piece. Appreciate that Amazon always has what we are looking for and at the most reasonable prices…

The torrent is one of lego’s best sets ever! Now if your wondering, the cock pit can fit your clone pilot’s(a very rare and cool minifig) sniper gun(behind the seat). The only thing I would be careful about is that this is a higher level set, I’v been doing legos for 6 years(I’m 11)and it was a friendly challenge. Includes some rare parts such as a super long axles that can come in handy for most projects. I think that a thing most people wonder when they see the box is were do you hold it, I think the best thing to do is hold the middle wing. For me the most frustrating thing is that sometimes the slide-out cock pit sometimes dosn’t slide back in and you have to fiddle with it a little. The only other thing is that the flick-fire torpedoes are pretty much bombs. Over all, this is a nice set if you are a lego master pretty much.

What a wonderful ship the V-19 Torrent is. Just fabulous in design as well as playability(is that a word?);)
Great set to build with fun, intricate parts to connect to make all 3 wings move simultaneously to deploy and retract the landing gear. Looks great in either position plus it’s durable and fun to play with.
Pros-Design, build, 3 wings simultaneously deploy and retract, playability, slide open cockpit, plus neat Clone-Pilot w/rifle.
Cons-Really none BUT, when building please follow carefully the positioning of the landing gear segments. Must be accurate at all phases to make the wings raise and lower properly.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any Lego collector or newbie. Lot’s of fun!
